Mr. Endre' Jenkins - Assistant Director of Bands
Mr. Endre’ Jenkins is a native of New Orleans, LA and has been a musician since the age of 9. Mr. Jenkins began playing the trumpet and has expanded his musical capabilities over the years, primarily mastering the Euphonium and Baritone. Mr. Jenkins moved to Atlanta at the age of 15, enrolled at Pebblebrook High School and became a member of the Band Program. During his time with the band, Mr. Jenkins served as Baritone Section Leader for three consecutive years, participated in Symphonic Band, Jazz Ambassadors, Mighty Marching Machine, and various small ensembles. Mr Jenkins also received numerous awards and distinctions, including the first Band Director's award presented in 2009.
After graduating from Pebblebrook, Mr. Jenkins obtained a Bachelor of Music from Mississippi Valley State University where he was a part of the Symphonic Band, Mean Green Marching Machine, and Jazz Band. Mr. Jenkins most recently has served as a middle school level Department Chair and Director of Bands, as well as high school Assistant Director of Bands within KIPP Metro Atlanta Schools. As a professional musician, Mr. Jenkins has shared the stage with B.B. King and other blues artists in the Mississippi Delta. Mr. Jenkins also performs throughout the south with many professional musician groups including the Phat Katz Brass Band. Mr. Jenkins holds professional memberships in Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Georgia Music Education Association (GMEA), and the National Association for Music Educators(NAfME). |
